SEP is an independent fashion house and social enterprise founded in 2014. It operates at the intersection of contemporary design, heritage craft, and long-term social responsibility.

SEP works with hand-embroidery as a living practice, collaborating with artists in Jordan to produce pieces rooted in authorship, heritage celebration, and care. The house is structured to ensure that creative production, economic participation, and accountability are aligned rather than competing.

SEP’s mission is to build long-term economic, emotional and social independence with refugee artists, enabling skilled work to provide sustainable income, professional recognition and tangible hope.

Through this model, SEP seeks to contribute to economic stability, strengthen community resilience, and challenge reductive perceptions of refugees.

SEP designs and produces contemporary objects informed by Levantine heritage and cultural memory, with the keffiyeh as its foundational form.

Collections are developed through a dialogue between design, material intelligence, and hand-embroidery. Each piece is conceived to endure — materially, culturally, and ethically — beyond seasonal cycles or trend-driven narratives.

Alongside its collections, SEP develops cultural programming, learning initiatives, and physical spaces that extend its practice beyond retail.

SEP operates through long-term collaboration rather than short-term sourcing.

Hand-embroidery is authored work. Artists contribute skilled embroidery to SEP’s collections through structured partnerships that prioritise recognition, autonomy, and respect. Authorship is made visible through attribution and signing.

SEP retains responsibility for design, materials, finishing, quality control, logistics, and distribution, ensuring clarity of roles and accountability across the system.

SEP is a Certified B Corporation and reports annually on its social and environmental performance.

Transparency, reporting, and long-term accountability are treated as operational responsibilities rather than marketing claims. SEP’s impact is documented through structured reporting and made publicly available for review.

SEP’s work is created in Jordan, primarily through its collaboration with artists based in the Jerash Gaza Camp, and extends across to Europe, the US, the Gulf through design, retail, and cultural activities.

The house maintains a physical presence through its stores and spaces, which function as points of encounter for our community.

SEP operates independently.

It is not trend-led, urgency-driven, or campaign-based. Decisions are made with long horizons, favouring depth over scale and continuity over immediacy.
