“We have a duty to our brothers and sisters who, for various reasons, have been forced to leave their homeland: a duty of justice, of civility and of solidarity" — His Holiness Pope Francis

THE LAUDATO SI’ CHALLENGE SEEKS TO SUSTAINABLY IMPROVE THE LIVES OF 10 MILLION PEOPLE EXCLUDED FROM OUR COMMON HOME BY 2020—ANTICIPATING THE SDG2030 OBJECTIVE OF LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND—THROUGH BUSINESSES THAT ARE: INNOVATIVE, SUSTAINABLE, EMPOWERING AND ETHICAL.

The Laudato si' Challenge called on entrepreneurs—of all faiths, from all continents—to sustainably improve the lives of 10 million people excluded from Our Common Home by 2020 through businesses that are: innovative, sustainable, empowering and ethical.

At The 2018 Laudato si’ Challenge final event in Rome in December, five major “Commitments to Impact” will be announced. These are new, specific and measurable commitments that contribute to the goal of sustainably improving the lives of 10 million people excluded from Our Common Home by 2020.

Being one of the 50 companies chosen by the Laudato Sí Challenge team is a humbling and exciting experience for us at SEP Jordan and it takes us one step closer to Rome, to an official recognition that what all of us at SEP are doing with relentless motivation and energy is indeed a step in the right direction.

The Final 50 Companies are a mix of technology, services, manufacturing companies which operate with human beings who happen to be refugees in many countries and regions, all over the world: this is to our knowledge the most comprehensive vetted list of Social Entreprises, focused on the Refugee Issues, across sectors, published to date. A big thank you to all of our colleagues, customers, guardian angels for getting us this far and fingers crossed for the rest of the selection process!
